ACOTE Standards Revision Comment: ACOTEStandardsRevisionComments

Dear Disabled OT Professionals, Students & Allies:

The Network of OT Practitioners with Disabilities and Supporters (NOTPD) urges all disabled professionals, students, and allies to comment on the ACOTE Standards proposed revisions.  Now is our chance to get disability and inclusion of students with disabilities recognized in the OT profession and education.  It is a chance to change the accrediting standards to require support and inclusion and provide a mechanism for enforcing the standards.  Special thanks to Lynn Swedberg for her research and advocacy to help me pull together this document that can serve as recommended comments for submission.  All OTs, OTAs, and students can submit comments.  Now is our chance to improve access and inclusion for disabled students and professionals in the OT profession for years to come.  This is an urgent request as comments must be received on or before MONDAY, APRIL 10TH, 2023.  See attached recommendations that can be emailed to: accred@aota.org or you can submit and online form.
